Free Essays on Worship Old And New
Worship Old and New Many have spent most of their lives trying to figure out why a God with so much power could waste so much time watching and protecting a species that he created but who have denounced him as Lord and Savior. I have been learning a lot this past semester about my faith and who God is. And I too have wonder why or even how a God like Yahweh, could love some one like me or the rest of the world for that fact. We are sinners and are not worthy to worship or be loved by him, but he still wants us to and he still guards us. Throughout history it seems, as I have stated before, that we are looking to understand why we are here and how God would let us continue to denounce him, but it was interesting to read that some believe that biblical worship is set around a couple of points; it was God who made the first initial step to bring salvation to his fallen creatures and it is the response of the people towards this wondrous God. Still these two points technically do not explain why God would take that ââ¬Å"initiativeâ⬠step? I understand that it was God who created the world with just word of mouth and it was God who ââ¬Å"breathed the breath of lifeâ⬠into our nostrilsâ⬠¦but why? The book makes it clear that we were created to worship God, but that seems superfluous to me, why take all that time to create something when you know how it will turn out? I know it probably wrong for me to say that but, that is how my human side sees the picture. On the other hand, my Christians side can jus t caught a glimpse of why and understand, but I suppose that is what we would call ââ¬Å"faithâ⬠. It is through this ââ¬Å"faithâ⬠that our ancient Christians or simple believers held the LORDS commands in highest standards. By commandments I mean, the sacrificing of the lambs or oxen, etc., the Passover rituals and so forth.
